Kathy Mandato is the President and CEO of Mandato & Co, a leading-edge consulting firm focused on addressing HR needs, and helping world-class companies build world-class cultures.

At Mandato & Co, Kathy provides her clients with years of leadership experience in HR, advertising, technology and media.  By bringing these skills together she helps companies build strong cultures, enhance leadership teams, elevate key talent, and scale great ideas.

In addition to these strategic services, Kathy provides executive coaching and founder coaching.  These sessions focus on helping everyone from the brand-new founder to the seasoned C-Suite professional be successful in their careers, and operate within the corporate world.

Today, her expanding client roster includes an advisory role to three LA-based tech startups including HIA Technologies, an artificial intelligence company in the talent acquisition space and ReChain, a blockchain company in the loyalty and rewards business.

Prior to the launch of Mandato & Co, Kathy spent over 20 years as a strategic and operational hands-on executive.  She has served in leadership roles for companies ranging from 400 employees to 30,000 – at each of these companies she has led cultural change and transformation, two of which were named as Fortune 100’s Best Companies to Work For.

Her professional background includes human resources, sales, new business development, and marketing and communications.  Kathy was Snap’s VP of Human Resources and part of its executive leadership team. She oversaw all aspects of HR, leading a team of 40 HR professionals for a population of 3,000 employees worldwide, inside of a company valued at over $16 billion.

Prior to Snap, Kathy was a key member of NBCUniversal’s executive team during the entertainment giant’s turnaround beginning in 2011.  Serving as Executive Vice President of Human Resources for NBC Entertainment, and a trusted advisor to NBC Chairman Bob Greenblatt, she helped shape business strategy resulting in NBC rising from 4th to 1st place among broadcast networks in less than 3 years.  Kathy was also responsible for leading the transformation of HR Shared Services and Payroll for NBCUniversal. This led her to oversee a cumulative staff of over 50 people, and have direct responsibility for a $4 billion+ payroll.

She has also been the head of HR for DreamWorks SKG, and in HR leadership roles at Turner Entertainment in Atlanta, and marchFiRST, an internet service provider.

Prior to her career in human resources, Kathy spent a decade on the client side in the advertising agency world.  She served in account management and business development for agencies including BBDO Worldwide where she was Vice President of New Business Development and Communications for its Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Atlanta offices.

Today, Kathy is very active with several LA based organizations that assist underserved youth. She currently serves on the boards of My Friend’s Place, a non-profit organization for at-risk and homeless youth, and The United Way of Greater Los Angeles.

She received her B.S. degree in journalism and mass communications with a minor in public relations from Kansas State University. She lives in Brentwood with her two daughters.
